CalSavers is a state-mandated IRA program that was created by legislation passed in 2016 requiring California employers with 5 or more employees that do not sponsor a retirement plan, such as a 401(k), to participate in CalSavers – an automatic enrollment individual retirement account (IRA) with no employer fees or fiduciary liability. The deadline for employers to take action is June 30, 2022.
Ava Heaslet from Vestwell will be providing an overview of the program and explaining the differences between CalSavers and a 401(k) plan. Ava has over 8 years of industry experience and most recently served as a retirement plan advisor to small to mid-sized California businesses.
